The age old question remains: “Does this thing actually help me lose weight?” YES. “But is it safe?” While doing tons of speed like, ephedra-caffeine pills will probably help you reincarnate into Paris Hilton circa 2001, you also might suffer a stroke or heart attack. You won’t even get a chance to show off your new beach bod!
That is why we review products for you to show that they are not only effective weight loss solutions, but are safe for daily use.
What is the deal with Special K Protein Shakes?
Special K Protein shakes are breakfast shakes in the likeness of the Ovaltine you hated as a kid dressed up in better packaging with a protein packed formula. These low-cal drinks come in 3 different Neapolitan flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. They are made with those who are super busy in mind. Breakfast is notoriously the most skipped meal and this easily solves that problem. The shakes are meant to be meal replacers to help users cut calories without all the inane counting and tallying. Just simply swap out that turkey sandwich for a shake you can enjoy on the go for lunch. No MC-egg-muffin for breakfast on your commute, have a shake instead. This is how Special K Protein Shake works, but it is still up to you to not stuff your face with garbage during other meals and start a workout plan.

Is the drink safe for daily consumption?
Safe yes, effective yes, healthy…. Not so much. 18 grams of sugar is a lot for a 10 ounce beverage. It will continue to feed your sugar and carb addiction and maybe even make cravigns worse instead of squashing them like the product advertises. There is also tons of food coloring in the product that is banned in other countries where the FDA has cracked down. Canola oil is definitely not good to be guzzling if you are trying to lose weight. This is also a dairy based product which is notoriously hard for the body to digest correctly. Reading this ingredient is like reading in a foreign language. This is never a good sign, there are so many artifical flavors and preservatives in this product. While the tactic of adding more protein and cutting calories is totally effective and safe for weight loss, the ingredients in the product are iffy.
